My Dar Teddy

I made a Dar teddy! Have a look at Dar's teddy on her blog Artedar's Attic.
My teddy is made from recycled linen which I stamped with Tim Holtz stamps with black archival ink. I hand sewed all the pieces and stuffed with toy stuffing, added a bow and some button eyes (one is only loosely on) and a lace patch. It was easy to make, the hardest thing for me was sewing the arms, legs and patch on so that they looked like they had been pulled off and sewed back after being loved for so many years! A lovely little project to make!

Lulabelles Place has a Little Shabby Chic shop

I have opened a little shop over on Etsy! There is only a few things in there at the moment ( took me a whirl to get my head around it all!) but I will be adding more very soon! If you want to take a look click on the pictures on the left hand side of my blog and hopefully you will be transported there!
Everything that I sell is a 'found' treasure so I won't have great quantities of anything so buy while I have them!
Everything will come wrapped in usable wrappings either tissue, clothing pattern tissue, a doily or book paper and as far as possible recycled  packaging.

Hope you like what is on there so far! Keep looking I have lots to add (more chandelier lustres, doilies, tart tins, flowers, foil tape, brown parcel tape, plasterboard tape, to name but a few)!
If there is anything you are particularly interested in please let me know!
Thanks for looking!
Bye for now!

The Same Moon

I found this on Pintrest and fell in love with it! I have a thing about the moon, it reminds me of my Mum. Unfortunately I can't find it again, I was so excited about trying to paint it that I didn't pin it so I thank whoever did this beautiful piece of art and hope you won't mind my trying to paint it for myself. I don't paint often but this inspired me to get out my Aqua tones and Prisma pencils and have a go!
I just did a quick sketch on some paper and then started with the Aqua tones just to put down a base, adding more intense colour where needed.

This is what it looked like when I had added some Prisma colour pencils over the top. It is no where near as beautiful as the original but I was pleased how it came out. I left the background blank as I knew I wanted to put it on a canvas.

And here it is finished. The canvas has been painted with black gesso, sprayed with various colours (which do not show on the photo but look pretty in real life).
If I can find the original on Pintrest at a later date I will add it to this post!
Thank you for looking!

Another from this to this!

Got this lovely orange pine corner unit from the car boot, just what I needed but not in that colour!

So with a little work, (sanding, washing and a few coats of paint it was transformed into this little cream wonder! And it fits like a glove in the corner of my lounge!

Just needs a few more 'treasures' on it!

From this to this!

I got this frame one rainy Saturday at local car boot for £1 about a year ago. I thought one day I will do something with it and until yesterday it hung in our bedroom over a mirror that was too small for it! Then I had a great idea and set about painting it cream to go with my living room!

And this is how it turned out! With the addition of a wire heart notice board (also from a car boot for £1), I now have somewhere to put some family photos! I love it!

It was easy to attach the wire heart to the frame using homemade wire hook/eyes and a few screws! They were made for each other, (although the wire heart was only brought 2 weeks ago) they fitted together as if they were meant to be!

Making boxes!

Hubs made me some wooden boxes from some old pallets! Love the rustic look! The green ones are just as they were and the white ones I painted with watered down paint!
Lucky me to have a clever hubs!
